During this time of protest, political unrest, and COVID-19, it’s important that we check-in. Our community is hurting. This wound of social injustice is not new, but one that is constantly torn open each time a Black man or woman loses their life at the hands of racist acts. These crimes against humanity remind us of the people who came before us and their fight for equality. This fight is far from over, in fact, these senseless murders have magnified the need for immediate change. The multitude of nationwide protests have ignited a movement for not only police reform, but for the dismantling of the systemic institutional racism so embedded in our society. seek justice and peace.
