Created by the American Cancer Society, the Smokeout highlights the life-changing impact of taking that first step and underscores the importance of accessible support systems. With smoking contributing to more than 480,000 deaths annually in the U.S., the Great American Smokeout serves as a powerful reminder that quitting is not only possible but deeply transformative when community, tools, and encouragement are in place.
